Patient induced under 5% isoflurane and then reduced to 2% to maintain. Obtained VD and H view of shoulders- there is significant bridging bone formation across the fracture site. Patient appears comfortable and holds wing symmetrically. 

Will plan to remove body wrap and monitor for wing droop. Needs ophtho recheck next week--as long as this looks good and sutures removed, can go ahead to move outdoors.

Surgery time - 25 minutes
The feathers were plucked from around the left eye. The left
eye and surrounding featherless area were scrubbed with dilute
betadine solution. In surgery, the dorsal and ventral palpebrae
were removed using iris scissors. A blade was used to remove
the cornea. A small spatula was used to remove the lens and vitreous
humour. Sterile cotton tipped applicators were used to remove
the remainder of the tissue from the orbit. The third eyelid
was left in place and undisturbed. The palpebrae were closed
using 5-0 PDS in an intradermal pattern.
